Yes, I'm *still* tired. Arg.

I'm flyering for The Dawning after work tonight. If you are interested in tagging along and assisting, gather at Coyote a wee bit before 7pm. Wear warm clothes!

Interesting news: we ran b00le's America Inline, edited to lose the fucks, on the WNRN Rate at 8 on Monday. All but 3 callers loved it! We have added it to the local music rotation, which means it has the chance of getting spun at least once a day. Also added, as optionals: new Rasputina - their covers of Rock And Roll and Torniquet. It is always a good day when Rasputina gets added! And to put the cherry on top - new Nick Cave, Luxt, and Pigface are in my hands right now and ready to be reviewed for possible addition to rotation! [livejournal.com profile] blackradish, I'll make sure you get to hear the Pigface.
Look for reviews of these CDs soon on xiane.org!

Okay, off to lunch with Stu then to Coyote.

Yay, Nick Cave! I hope the song "Babe, I'm on Fire" is as amusing as the lyrics seem to be.

I'd love to hear Cave on rotation. That would officially make WNRN the coolest radio station ever. At least for a little while. Let me know if Cave ever makes it to a Rate at 8, I'll be sure to call in.

I'm listening right now...and they just played Ween. Bonus points.

b00le's enough to make me *stop* listening to WNRN.

playing local bands is cool, but not when a member of a local band is a raging asshole.

i wish i'd seen your flyering bit. i'd have shown up.

Hmm. Well, I've only met them once and talked to them via email a few times, so I haven't presonally experienced any assholishness... something I should know about? They've been pleasant to me so far.

My usual stance on personality vs music: if someone in a band does something I dislike that I've witnessed or experienced, that will definitely affect my judgement of them. But being a jerk isn't necessarily enough to rule out enjoying their music. That's a really gloss statement on my part and probably needs more detail, but I'm not feeling it right now. I guess it's like this: advocating clubbing baby seals would get you banned from my list. Screwing over other bands because you could [a la SOM] will prevent me from ever seeing you live, but won't purge your music from my shelves. And being a poop to my friends will probably keep you out of my circle of friends, but won't make me change the channel when your tunes come on, unless I really dislike the song. That's of course *my* values, and I would never hold anyone else to them. I'm just 'splaining because I thought I should :)
If there's something I should know for booking purposes though... I'd appreciate a heads-up.

Heh...dammit - if I'd seen this yesterday I would've helped...I was hanging out at the Mellow Mushroom at about that time anyway...

If you need help another night, let me know & I'll do what I can to pitch in.
