...In just one week, I will be married.

O_O That's so weird. And awesome! Awesomely weird!

So! Today's my last whining post about "coming out to Cryptie" - although I'll still be encouraging people to go out and get the deathrock on - because tonight is the last chance that most of y'all will have to see me before I leave and turn into Mrs Tigglebottom for real.
Also, I have a huge stack of crap for people to loot and take home with a happy grin, because I won't be needing it. That includes some magazines, CDs, a few toys... assorted weirdness. Anything that isn't taken tonight will go to charity.

And seeing how tonight is my last Cryptie, it is just scary_kissesNekromantra and I spinning. I'll be delving into the stuff that made me want to be involved with a night like this, and probably some silly stuffs too - as y'all know I'm wont to do. :D

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.
xiane: ([djing])
Yes, soon you won't be seeing a meelion of these announcements. Wanna know why?

BECAUSE I ONLY HAVE TWO WEEKS LEFT AT CRYPTIE, SUCKAS.

Yes, that means that you - YOU! - need to bring your pasty, black-clothes-wearing-or-NOT buttocks down to The Depot [that's 1728 N Charles, in case you've been under a rock all this time] TONIGHT and dance around to Deathrock, Psychobilly, and old school Goth and Punk as it is laid down by me, scary_kissesDJ Nekromantra, and debut DJ [livejournal.com profile] rampantpuppy! Don't want to dance? That's okay, because there's plenty of cheap rail drinks during our Monster Love Happy Hour, from 9p - 11p. And talk's so cheap that it's free! In fact, if you're over 21, ADMISSION is free! [if you're over 18 but under that magic number, it's a measly five bucks to get in. Suck it up!]

To sweeten the deal, I'll be bringing out several bags o' stuff for people to loot. This includes clothes and toys. Possibly music if I get off my ass. Yes, you can HAVE all that stuff. You don't even need to know me.... although if you're reading this, chances are that you do know me.

Just to entice you further, I'll put last week's setlist under the cut.
You know you wanna... )

What's this? Bored at home on a Wednesday night? Lacking cheap drinks and creepy company, needing a scary soundtrack to set your socializing to? Well, what are you waiting for - Cryptkicker is just what you've been looking for!

The crowd at Cryptkicker is made up of the coolest ghouls around. You can have a tantalizing conversation at the bar - and hear yourself! - then go slink off to the dance floor and do a graveyard stomp to the Deathrock, Horror Rock, Psychobilly, and Old School Goth and Punk spun by ZombieHostesses Nekromantra and Xiane. When you're ready for more chilling beverages, you can take advantage of our "late" happy hour - $1 drafts and rail drinks from 9 -11 pm. You can even watch horribly magnificent d-grade horror movies, courtesy of Movie Master [livejournal.com profile] osiris909!

New policy [for now] is 18+ to enter [$5 door fee] and free admission if you're over 21. We'll be working to remove that recent addition, but for now it stands. Sorry. :(
All the rest is the usual blurb: doors at 9pm, open until 2am or until the place empties out, so bring yer spooky asses out early and stay all night!
Cryptkicker is at The Depot, 1728 N Charles St, Baltimore MD.

Tomorrow night at Cryptie, we've got something special lined up for youuuu... Our creepy spinmistress Nekromantra is out of town so the ghoulishly delightful DJ Dayglo [formerly failure.to.thrive/of Horrorshow!] has volunteered to step up and get in the booth again, pairing up with me to drive you into an itchy musical frenzy guaranteed to make you want to dance around.

... And if that doesn't do it, the one dollar drink specials will.

Add to that our own special screening of the best worst horror movies EVER, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] osiris909, and a great group of regulars, AND free cover... what are you waiting for!

Cryptkicker. Every Wednesday at The Depot, 1728 N Charles Street, Baltimore MD. Doors at 9, free admission, 18+.

First, here be the setlist from Cryptkicker: )

You might note that we left early. Although Margaret assures us that it isn't because of slim turnout - she wanted to go home and sleep - it would be a lot less likely that we close early like this if all the people who profess to love Cryptkicker as much as they say they do would [ahem] effin' SHOW UP more often... even for a half hour, for a quick beer and some good conversation. We miss you! And there's nothing else like this in the area, you know. The closest B'more has is [livejournal.com profile] schadenfreudedc [and if you live in the DC area, get yer butts out to support THAT, too!].
No, I'm not angstin' about this, just so you know. I mean, I'll be there if you are or aren't. I just wanted to draw this little thought to your attention ;)

Tonight I'm going to run wild in the woods, celebrating the turn of the seasons to my Favourite Time Of The Year. Beautiful Autumn, bring cooler weather and lovely painted leaves soon, please! I hope that the Equinox brings lovely things for you, beautiful changes.

This week at Cryptkicker we'll be donating our earnings and taking donations for Second Harvest of Greater New Orleans. They run a food bank in New Orleans [1201 Sams Ave, New Orleans, 70123] and may be in a position to give much more immediate help than some other organizations.*

Please bring anything you can afford to offer to put in our collection jar. I'll be sending off payment myself, and I'll post any correspondence we might receive in connection with our donation. The Cryptkicker staff will be donating all their earnings for this night to the fund.

If you'd like more info on Second Harvest of Greater New Orleans, here's the scoop: http://partners.guidestar.org/networkforgood/controller/searchResults.gs?action_gsReport=1&npoId=240172.

Next month we'll be collection for Habitat for Humanity, to assist the rebuilding effort.

*Why not Red Cross? Because so many people are focusing their donations on them, and we wanted to give to different organizations that also need help. I'm also personally giving to Red Cross, but these fund drives are going to concentrate on different humanitarian efforts.

Before I get into this too far, I wanted to mention - if you have MySpace, plllleeease add http://www.myspace.com/cryptkicker_md? It would help in our promotions greatly. Thanks!

[livejournal.com profile] cryptkicker_md in a little bit. Suffice to say for the moment that it was awesome, Hatter and Joey are hilarious and great to hang out with, big groups afterwards at Paper Moon rock, and [livejournal.com profile] scary_kisses was greatly missed.

Quick question for [livejournal.com profile] krasota - can you eat cottage cheese and eggs? If so, I have the best pancake recipe for you. Made it today for breakfast and it was *amazing* - Just 1/2 C Lowfat cottage cheese, 2 eggs, a dash of vanilla and cinnamon, whirl in the blender until smooth, make like pancakes. They're rather like crepes, thin and deeeeeliciously crispy.
Vegetarians on the list, you could probably use egg replacement. The cottage cheese is non-negotiable, tho.

Off to run errands, then back to the homestead for setlist posting and *real* updating.
xiane: ([cryptkicker])
Catch DJ Nekromantra [[livejournal.com profile] scary_kisses] and myself spinning Deathrock, Horror Rock, Psychobilly, and Old School Goth and Punk! As an added bonus, our own Ru-Ru will be once again displaying his amazing artwork - you can check out his handiwork on the Cryptkicker logo, then come and purchase something for your own!

All the usual parameters: 18+, $3 drink specials all night, doors open at 9p... and it's FREE! Bring your spooky self to The depot, 1728 N Charles Street, B'more MD. See you there!
xiane: ([cryptkicker])

That's RIGHT: EVERY Wednesday - except the first one of each month - is OURS.
In fact, to make things super special, we'll be Deathrockin' out throughout the month of July, with DJ Dayglo [formerly of Horrorshow!] on July 6th to kick things off properly. We'll be announcing future guest DJs as we get them.

As usual, expect free admission, drink specials, cool ghouls, and the best creepy music we can dig up. Dance 'til yer dead!
