Good lord, I have a lot of catching up to do!

Halloween
Hmm. So, I didn't end up going to the Richmond show with Haujobb and Hocico, rather [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth managed to wish me away to DC [along with ex-Navy Boy Dan] and the show that included Assemblage 23 at Nation. We arrived and immediately ran into [livejournal.com profile] simplistik, which was excellent, as I've been missing her terribly. As soon as I got inside, the Richmond Crew was in effect, with Floody, [livejournal.com profile] unnerving, and other wonderful peeps. That was really the highlight of the show for me - I was battered by the crowds, annoyed by the burgeoning bass, and mindful that I would be on the air playing AAA hits at noon the next day. Hocico did an admirable job, let me mention... not my favourite band by any means, but they were really good. We finally left after a lot of mindless wandering on my part [no one else's fault, I just wasn't into it], and I fell into bed around 5 am.

Friday Nov 1st
Got to work early, amazingly, and got ready for my 12-3 radio shift. It went without a hitch, which freaked the shit outta me! Hung around doing office crap until 7, then went home to have some belated anniversary action with The Stu. We watched Buffy Season 2 episodes, and lounged about aimlessly. It was great.

Saturday Nov 2nd
Woke up VERY late for me, and we dragged our asses down to Rapture for some brunch. Made date with Charity to once again chop more hair off. Eventually I'll be completely shorn ;) Came home and prepared for the big "No Dawning Picnic", which mostly was me getting dressed in heavy gothy clothes and finding my indian bedspread for sitting pleasure. Walked to the Downtown Mall and caught a trolley to The Corner, where we were supposed to meet up [at the dreaded Starbuck's, yes, I know] - picked up a box of Pepperage Farm fancy cookies while I was out. Gathered our large contingent and finally we braved the cold for our walk over to the graveyard at UVa. It was utterly pleasant; the air was brisk but not unbearable, and once we got to the grounds and made our way into the cemetery, it was almost as if we'd entered another, quieter world. There were jokes, stories, plus some good munchies and great company... we lingered on until a bit after midnight, when the cold really started to kick in and we decided to call it a night. Got home around 1 am, and watched a bit more Buffy with Stu, who skipped the picnic because of an evil cold. Passed out around 5 am again. See a pattern?

Today, Nov 3rd
So now I'm at... you guessed it - WNRN. I got here early because I could catch a ride, so I'm catching up on my online things, yay. I need to enter a few playlists, update the Dawning calendar, and plot out what I'm going to do for the show. I wanted to do a retrospective on music that got me into goth up until the new things I listen to these days - but I don't really know how to handle it without sounding like a pretentious ass. A common problem for me, really *humour, people*

I've been having weird dreams. I can't really relate them right now, but I'll try and tell more later. I have a lot of things that have been on my mind, but of course my brain doesn't want to conjure them up at present. I'll try and post more obliquely and less "update-style" later on, after I get back from SubShock.

Me! Me! Me! And you know what - I was looking for you like crazy, because I knew you would have to be there... but there were SO many people... I was unable to focus. Damn!

One day, dear Shannon, we will meet up at some event... and we'll probably cause the world to end when we meet. Would be the way of things, you know!

*hugs*
