I despised REM and Smashing Pumpkins when I was younger, but I really appreciate the music now.

I refused to listen to Tori Amos for years because a friend introduced me to her as "jazz". I really like her stuff these days, though not as much as I did 10 years ago.

I adored heavy metal and black metal for years, but now have to be in a very, very rare mood to handle either one.
