WHITE MARSH, Md. -- Authorities have three men in custody after a shooting inside a mall Thursday evening.

Police told WBAL-TV 11 News that a fight apparently broke out at about 7 p.m. in the food court of White Marsh Mall, and then an unspecified number of shots was fired.

WBAL-TV has learned that an off-duty Baltimore County police officer working mall security at the time provided descriptions of those involved in the fight, and an off-duty Baltimore City police officer provided assistance.

Police subsequently arrested two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old just outside the mall. Authorities believe the suspects shot at four men, who then ran away.

i dunno how bad White Marsh Mall is, but my friend worked at Arundel Mills for a while.
he witnessed a fight where a few people were stabbed.
he also heard about a few people killed outside the mall.
...
and people wonder why i don't like shopping at the mall much anymore.

White Marsh usually isn't *that* bad. I mean, it's overrun by annoying teens on weekends. There are the people who steal, who are obnoxious, annoying. But as far as I know, gunshots aren't so common there.
Tomorrow's my last day. I just hope that stuff stops there, because I know a lot of people that work there now. ._.

Our library was headed that way before we got the moonlighting police officers and security cameras last year. We hadn't had anyone get shot or stabbed yet, but we did have them brawling in the parking lot, harrassing people as they walked in and out of the building, vandalism and threats to the workers. There was also talk of gang recruitment and drug sales. We had undercovers coming in even. All that in the library.

People are still surprised to find this shit going on in suburbia, but it's been on the increase for a good while.

I remember when I was a wee lil' lad hanging out at White Marsh. Back then it was just a bunch of Marilyn Manson fans, smoking stolen cigarettes and smoking cheap weed. I'm glad that noone was hurt though.
