4 September 2002 22:30So, I've been away.
Want to know what I've been up to? Well, it wasn't very pleasant. Remember that mysterious and evil sickness from two weeks ago or so? It came back with a vengeance, making me feel like I could actually die from it... so bad, in fact, that I did something I almost never do.
I went to the ER.
And then...
I waited.
I vomited.
I waited.
I vomited.
Repeat about 6 more times, from 2:30pm until about 7pm. Yes, that's right. Now, keep in mind that this was Labor Day. I expected things to be slow. But it was really obvious that, aside from the traumas coming in via ambulance - well, I was the sickest one there. Seriously. My lips were as white as my skin, according to Stu, several people in the waiting area, and my doctors. Absolutely terrifying.
Anyway, they got me in the back, and it took several hours of being sausage-armed by the blood pressure cuff, as well as an IV with two litres of fluids, pain killers, and bodily fluids testing - but they finally got me to stop hurting and expelling. The analysis? A systemic bacterial infection. A BAD one. Completely dehydrated, to boot. Evil.
Soooo... I've been completely fucked for the last few days. And it explains why I was so out of sorts on Saturday night, too. A note about saturday - I didn't get to hang out with Team Richmond OR
payback, and that sucked. The Brides were awesome, and great guests, too. I saw a lot of people I haven't seen in ages. But overall, things were... weird. I dunno. I guess it was the onset of ill that had me off. But I feel more and more like my self-esteem is slipping away, like my friends are becoming disinterested in me, and like this past year has kicked my ass. I hope this passes when I feel better. I miss lots of people, and I miss having a simple life. Weird.
And I have a GIANT bruise on my arm. If you ask me, I'll show you ;)

2002-09-05 14:40 (UTC)Remember, you're always welcome to crash at my house if you feel like you might be too tired to drive home. I always have free space, even with a band staying there.
Coming out earlier would rock; I also really really want to come up to Richmond and hang out with you guys there. I was going to this week, and of course I got sick. But... soon.
