For starters: everyone was on time and prepared when it was time to go, including me. I Even had time to stop at Kinkos and make new flyers [note to [livejournal.com profile] scary_kisses, I made lots extra! I'll post the image in a bit] and get my car gassed up. I found [livejournal.com profile] nocturnaleye and Freya with no problem, and didn't even have issues with traffic or parking. We arrived right before nine and were warmly greeted; Sixx even carried my heavy DJ case downstairs for me. [I repaid him later by spinning Cruxshadows at his request, hehee.]
[livejournal.com profile] intenebris was still setting up when we arrived, so I stashed my DJ gear in the corner and joined Jen in perusing the selections in the "gothic yard sale." She picked up a top [which I still have, by the by!] and I got a copy of Medieval Baebes' "Undrentide" for $5. Talked to a bunch of people, including [livejournal.com profile] dj_phae, [livejournal.com profile] 13ghosts, all of In Tenebris at various times, and then the delightful [livejournal.com profile] androgylicious, who showed up and bumped hips with me on and off all night. And then Rhonda and Bob, who are [livejournal.com profile] cryptkicker_md regulars, showed up! That was a nice surprise. And there was a drive-by visit from Shannon and Matt! [that was SO awesome.] Of course [livejournal.com profile] midnightscott was as charming as ever, and I can't express enough how kindly he treats his guests at Midnight. He's always there to see if you need a drink or snack or anything at all.
Of course In Tenebris was lovely and rockin' - they played several new/reworked songs in a tight set that got a great response from a crowd that didn't know what to expect. I think the guys that were head bangin' and bouncing around in the corner were my favourites. I hope the band sold a bunch of their new CD.
I spun two sets - the first one before the band, and the second later in the night. I mostly stuck to gothic schmothic with a spattering of electronic-based bands that I like - there was some "gothic top 40" in my sets, but funny enough, they were all things that I only ever hear out when I or a very select few DJs in the area spin, so I don't feel too bad. Any trepidation I might have about my sets not being innovative were offset by the profuse thanks that many dancing patrons gave me later, saying that they hadn't heard those songs in ages. So... yeah. I was dancing around a lot in the small DJ area. It was a party. I ended my last set with "Sexbeat" by, y'know, Sexbeat, because I was sweetly pleaded to spin it. How could I turn that down?

We didn't get out of there until 2:30ish. My passengers were rather difficult to drag away from the club, even with the persuasion of Scott and Sixx, who escorted us back to the Jeeple and even loaded my stuff in. [shocking! I felt royal!]

The unfortunate side-effect of the late hours, combined with loud music and smoke and punctuated by heated discussion by my passengers left me with a raging headache. I said little on the drive home - and managed to get turned around on the way out, too, adding another 30 minutes to our trip - and once I was safely in my room, I washed and stripped and passed the hell out by 5:30... because I had to get up at 10a to get ready for work at noon. O_o
Surprisingly, I was mostly okay, though clumsy and still headachey when I woke. A lovely hot shower helped, then some brown rice and then an Americano once I got to the mall. I started off the working day with [livejournal.com profile] ispokethewords, so that sweetened the deal, too. I like all the people I worked with today a lot, and that made the time fly by. I was pretty awake by the time I got off work at 5p, and then Mom was kind enough to greet me at the door with potato and leek soup and salad. Considering that I never ate dinner last night, I was rrrravenous!

The rest of tonight has been spent being quiet, talking to [livejournal.com profile] inefficiency and Mom, and catching up on the news. Thrilling! Tomorrow I plan to knit, write, and leave the house ONLY to go to the grocery store. Tomorrow's a Xiane Day, dammit. Everyone drink a cup of coffee or cocoa in my name. :D

I'm sorry about the lateness and heated discussion. I guess I didn't realize these things were a problem until after the fact.

I'll bring your fabric and we can trade on Wednesday.

Oh, I don't know...I kind of enjoyed the heated discussion, but Im sorry that it wasn't so great for you. There were moments that I felt like kind of an idiot though.

My having fun is awesome for you? I hope you had some fun.

I did have fun! And you weren't an idiot. It was just loud for my head, but you guys didn't know that. And it did keep me awake during the drive home, and that's a *good* thing. I was really happy to have you there, Jen!
