So guess who got to see Venus Hum perform tonight?

Even better? Guess who got to MEET 'em, get CDs signed, get a BIG hug from Annette, and chat in depth about new songs, performing schedule, new cd....?

One might be surprised to find out that they played Messiah College, outside of Carlisle PA - but the Christian students ate up the show, dancing up a storm and pleading with the band to play more. Venus Hum were in fine form, with few technical hitches... even with poor Annette Strean's voice taxed from over-stress. She and Tony Miracle told us later that she strained it badly while touring with Blue Man Group, and that she was under doctor's orders not to talk for at least 20 minutes after performing. That's evidently why they're doing some small shows first, to see how Annette's voice will hold under touring pressure. I talked to them about the possibility of them playing some smaller clubs [hello, small club promoting friends of mine, this is where you email me] and they told me it was more than likely, depending on how touring things went for them. They are So! Nice! And ohmygoodness they are super live. I was completely impressed, not that I'm not already totally enamoured by them anyway.

So yeah, I'm bouncy and happy and it was totally worth the drive and the weirdness of going to a Christian college full of unknown people to see this super-awesome electronic band. If you get the chance you NEED to catch them live. [and buy a CD, people.]


... I head home to B'more tomorrow. I'm [obviously] not so happy about this, because it means parting from Boy for a while. *sigh* Soon... we won't get to see each other for quite some time, so bear with my sappiness and gushing over him, okay? I know I'm a smitten sap and I'm utterly apologetic. :D
