0248; early morning or late night, you decide.
Soft rain is falling, dripping from the leaves of the trees that overhang the house... sounding off with relaxing and delighful splats from the deck and eaves.
I can barely see outside, it is so dark.
I'm possibly the only one awake in this entire house.
The cool breeze that accompanied the shower leaks in through the back door, occasionally catching me off-guard with a drop in temperature.
I feel as if, in this moment, I own this small environment of rain, and sound, and cool breeze.

People wonder why I love my insomnia, my nocturnal nature - here it is, for you to covet. I have solitude, I have quiet noises that lull me to peace, I have a bit of life that most everyone else fails to notice.

In this moment, I am happy.
