Got to the space around 3p, to find people there hard at work, hanging lights and assembling the stage, bringing in the bar and setting things up. We all jumped to work, making the place beautiful.
By 7p, it was starting to look like a club. We got the stage together, the bands were there, and soundman Rob started his fine art of making the place sound great.
People started showing up promptly at 9p, when the doors opened. I had some mix CDs kindly created by The Tiny DJ and [livejournal.com profile] shuriokuninja, and I put those on for background goodness.
First band went on around 9:20, Something About Art. Despite having to start the night - always a nervous proposition! - they brought the rock, and it was good. My Life And A Rifle was next, and they were great! I give them the title "Band I liked most last night" - not to take anything away from the other bands, of course. *grin* Folkskunde was the headliner, and people bopped around enthusiaticially while they switched between their instruments like some strange game of musical chairs. In fact, all the bands seemed prone to multi-intrumentalism, which was rather neat. If you like the Indy-Rock/Emo sound, go check out all these bands.
Considering that the crowd was decidedly of a high-school age with a few folk from Rapture mixed in, the show broke up pretty soon after the last band played. And despite the fact it was a Thursday, attendence was good and the show stayed full until close to the end. Yay!

Thanks go out to all the bands who contributed their time and performance, and everyone who made last night happen... and of course, all who attended. Tonight will be even crazier and bigger, so I hope to see all of you there! Now I must go and prepare for day number two of madness...

Hello Chris!
I know I don't see you that often, but I wanted to tell you what an incredible opening I thought you guys organized last night. SO AWESOME. The space is amazing (as is the decor, the whole set up) and I wanted to thank you for the immeasurable amount of work I know you've put into it. Spectacular! And see you tonight!

congratulations!
