Today has been long but productive.

Got up [always an accomplishment!] and got ready to go to the station, which I did with the help of Alex, who has been in town to help briskpepper and I move our crap. She's too good to us. :)
Got to NRN and started chopping the OhGr interview into tracks, for easy broadcasting. Once I figured out what the hell I was doing, more or less, it went rather quickly. I have four decent sized tracks to play tonight, and two "drops", as we call them. A drop is a quick sound bite played over the intro to a song that usually says who we are [WNRN 91.9! with lots of echo or something]. OhGr did two - one for general use and one for my show because he said, "I like the name Subculture Shock." Heh. Pretty nifty stuff. Anyway, I'll be airing it tonight. Rock and roll.
We moved TONS of stuff yesterday, then went to the Dawning and enjoyed ourselves at Hellraiser Night. I can't apologise enough to K and mrjustice for the sound issues at the beginning of the night, though. I need more crew to help me. There's just too much for me to be responsible for anymore, and I'm not having as much fun doing this as I should be. That's no good. I need people that I can count on and that I trust to handle some of the more sticky situations with finesse. I've got people assisting now that I trust, but a few more would allow everyone to take time off and enjoy themselves MUCH more. No one should have to sit out the prime dancing every week or miss every band! If you think you would like to help, let me know. It has to be serious. I have to feel like you're doing it because you love the club. You have to be over 18, preferably over 21. Let me know if this sounds appealing. No, I'm not joking! :D

Whee. One week of packing, work at Coyote, a music meeting, flyering, then... DROP DEAD. I get to see some of my favourite bands [The Brides, twice! Yay!], I get to hang out with pizza_tram and dj_vlad. I get to have an awesome adventure with xymoxed. And then I come home to a NEW place to live!

Can you tell how excited I'm getting?
I have to calm down, SubShock is up soon. Erk.

I love the club. It's one of the prime reasons I fricken moved to Cville in the first place.
Plus I'm more than willing to spend time and energy on this since I have noticed you getting more and more stressed with each passing week. We need a sit down with people though. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, meetings are boring and all they really do is make people feel all good about themselves, but really, we're going to have to set some things in stone to get this to work right and not have people stepping on one anothers toes. Think of it as playing business-person. You know, like when you were a kid and you wanted to act like Lee Iacocca or some shit. Also, one major suggestion. Delegate, delegate, delegate and empower. We all know how much you take upon yourself but really, some people really are untapped resources that could make everything fun again, all the time. At least, they will make the problems go away.
Oh, and my gas attack has subsided quite well, thank you. Sorry for standing there and blowing up the stairs, but I figured that the stairwell was the best place to release the hordes from my bowels without clearing the downstairs and blocking the entrance. Whee. Gastiris is not your friend.

Anyway. Ideas come from all sorts of places. My left big toe just thought up a way to make the right toe rot off. Mind you, I didn't say they were "good" ideas, just that they were ideas...

I agree, I agree. Before I can delegate though, I have to organize everyone. That's what I think I'm trying to do now, in that nebulous Xiane fashion. And you were a great help this past saturday! I'd love it if you'd train more w/ Henofer to learn sound, because I think he'd love to take days off sometimes, and it would be great to have someone else there who knew what goes on with sound.
After I gets me volunteers, I intend to get us all together for a meeting and pizza or something. We'll do better if we all know what to do! [and if we're full of pizza]
