Seems that there's a bunch of people - and I know who some of them are, but not all - who think that if they go out and drink in the parking lot, it won't affect anything. They're wrong. Do you know what Atsushi [the club owner, for those who don't know] said to me today? "Used to be Friday night [punk night] was bad, but now Saturday night is the problem." Great. We're worse than Punk night in the eyes of Atsushi and the other business owners in University Shopping Center.
It is bad enough that Atsushi is once again considering getting rid of the all-ages policy.
If we lost the under 18 crowd, we would definitely suffer. And the worst part? Most of the real problem is the 18-21 year people, who are close to drinking age but not quite there. I saw someone well over 21 give beer to someone underage, right in front of me. HELLO. It isn't funny, it isn't cute - YOU COULD COST US OUR CLUB NIGHT AND POSSIBLY SEND ME TO JAIL OR HIT ME WITH A VERY STIFF FINE FROM THE ABC BOARD. If you want to feed alcohol to minors, fine. Just don't do it near The Rose. If you're under 21 and want to drink, I could care less - just do it AWAY from the club. Don't come in drunk from somewhere else either. I'll be evicting you if I suspect you're drunk and underage.
