This weekend= brain explody. Wow.

Friday was a complete washout of a day, as I was utterly incapacitated for most of it by the Mystery Disease Of Vomitus. I did get visits from a variety of interesting people, most of whom got to see me in the requisite "I'm Sickie" outfit of baggy black tee, tiny skully PJ pants, and rumpled pigtails. Oooh, sexy! ;)
Some of the kind visitors: [livejournal.com profile] krasota, [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth, [livejournal.com profile] salaciousdrift, Andy Deane, and of course my roomies [livejournal.com profile] mrjustice and [livejournal.com profile] mbickers. At least I think I saw M. I could have hallucinated that part. I think I saw Cory too. Hi, I have no concrete recollection of Friday. Wow.

Saturday: woke up, got ready for a long day at Coyote, then woke up my rockstar boyfriend [livejournal.com profile] briskpepper so that he could get shit together for Terminal Ready's big debut in Baltimore. [you can read more about that show and everyone's impressions of B'more in my friends list, heh] Sat around at Coyote like I always do, until [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth showed up around 3p and kept me company. We ran back to the house after I got out of work, picked up the DJ equipment and a few other tidbits, and hightailed it to Tokyo Rose to get some yummy sushi. Right as we were getting our table, [livejournal.com profile] djgyrl89 showed up and joined us. Yay! We had some good chatting time - a rarity at The Dawning, usually - and of course we feasted on the best food in Cville. Just in case anyone was in doubt... Vikki rocks.
After realizing I am a moron and managed to leave the money box at home [duh], The Chad ran out to get markers for us at the door, and we got ready for a fun filled night of a sold-out crowd and good tunes. Whenever Bella Morte plays, we sell out and there is all sorts of madness and fun. It also takes two people to effectively run the door on their nights, so The Chad and I gathered some people around us to keep us company, and held our little court at the door. [livejournal.com profile] xymoxed was there and brought me THE LOVELIEST BOUQUET OF FLOWERS EVER, a huge collection of purple and white beauties, wrapped in crinkly cellophane and tons of purple tulle. What a marvelous way to make me smile all night! I almost cried :) [livejournal.com profile] rat_bastard also hung out with us, and brought me some more CDs that he'd decided to discard and possibly add to my DJing collection. Yay!
Of course, The Mortes rocked out, Vikki kept the dance floor packed full all night, everyone was incredibly pleasant and happy and fun, and I had a blast. I even danced a wee bit, although I didn't feel well. I didn't dance to the new OhGr that Vikki played, although I really wanted to... but I did get to take her copy of the CD home [woo! thanks Vikki!] so I can spin a track or two tonight on SubShock.
Hung out a bit after we shut down, talking to the Bella Boys and being lazy, then we limped over to my house and I eventually crashed out... only to wake up an hour later by the arrival of [livejournal.com profile] briskpepper, who I pestered to tell me the details of the crazy Baltimore trip. Ugh. All I can say about that is: they now understand why I left there and never looked back!

So today has been spent with: lunch with [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth, then some Modern Rock airtime here at WNRN, which was wacko-crazy but fun. Now I'm killing time until SubShock, and I've got some delectable new stuff to spin on tonight's show, mmmmm! You'll just have to tune in to hearthem ;)

Okay, I should get some work done. Really. Call me during the show, freaks - 979 0919 or toll free at 877 967 6762... you can listen from far far away using the live stream on WNRN's webpage. Whee!

Again and again, I wish anything out here was going on as cool as what goes on out there.

When I finally get the hearse on the road, do I need to sneak out there and trundle you and all your important belongings into the back for an impromptu kidnapping?

I think I do.

KFG sounds incredibly fun to me, though. Maybe we'll have to do a cultural swapmeet one day.

Ha, I couldn't be so lucky. Getting to start all over in a new scene with new people and a new context... dreams are made of this.

KFG will remain after I'm gone, and KFG comes with me. I could travel the countryside, planting KFGs wherever I go.

You're making this very tempting.

Well, what's the job market like out there? The place I'm living in has been sold, I have to find a new place to live by August.

Honestly, it depends on what you're interested in doing. Some markets [such as computer tech type jobs] are fairly glutted; others are not so bad. UVa has ALL sorts of employment opps that are pretty decent.
Some info about Cville:
Cville Stats (http://www.charlottesville.org/default.asp?pageid=571C0282-3C44-4E9D-A92A-B777A35B20E3) - that page has huge amounts of useful info about our little Town That Thinks It Is A City.

Be careful. I am extremely talented at luring my friends here to live. I'm not joking. O_o

But are they happy? Are they contented? Are they impoverished or well-fed?

We're all surprisingly happy and well-fed.

I'll put it this way: I work 3 days a week, plus the wee bit of cash I sometimes make at The Dawning, when I work door or DJ.
[livejournal.com profile] briskpepper is unemployed at the moment, waiting to see if he can make this full-time band thing work. We manage to get by pretty well, considering.
In my list of friends who just moved here, two of them don't actually work here; one computer-commutes, and the other drives back to Richmond [45 minutes] every day. Most of us aren't interested in "careers", so we work places that are pleasant to work, rather than high-paying. A lot of us share living spaces to cut on costs, so we can justify our weird jobs or hair or whatever. We have a good community of helping each other out in my circle of friends, which is damn cool, but not unique to our group here. I think community is one of the reasons why this place is so safe and friendly.
I dunno. I love it here. There's always something going on, even if it is just hanging out and watching movies together, or going up to the mountains to star-gaze. Most of what we do isn't high energy [other than The Dawning], but it is really pleasant.
I don't know what else to say about cville. Come visit and see. :)

If I can stabilize myself here, you know, find a place to live that doesn't get sold out from under me, survive some car repairs and barring traumatic illness, I may just do that.

Yeah, we're all sick up and fed...

oh, wait, that's not it...

Xiane is our rock star. She brings all us groupies to places of coolness. Hail to the Xiane.

And yes, we moved here because of peoples like the Xiane. All Xiane groupies, UNITE! Form of.... strange gothlings and punks, wierd computer geeks and drunken rabble-rousing rock stars. Beat that wonder twins.

I go sleep in sink now.

[livejournal.com profile] explodingcat and I are happy because we're *here*. Oh, and because [livejournal.com profile] xiane is here and who wouldn't be happy with Chris around?

We're very well fed. Too well-fed, in fact. We need to become well-exercised, as well.

Ugh, me too... damn you and your wheat-meats! Damn you!

All must move to Charlottesville. The will of the Chris Knight commands it.

Who, indeed. Now that someone else has emerged from the woodwork to issue a ringing endorsement... man, I need to think about this.

I seem to be in a holding patter... for now. I think my toilet trembles in fear whenever it sees me though.

Whoa. That's a whole pile of disturbing images! O_o

I'm hoping that I get some comp ticket action for Dave Gahan. I probably don't have a hope in hell for the Human League show - we have an all-80's show on NRN, and I'm sure the host for that is first up on getting ticket dibs. I will fight for Dave tickets though. The new single is great!
Normally I'm not such a free ticket troll, but hey, the station gets tickets in exchange for promoting shows at the 9:30, and I'm poor right now. I'm such a music junkie...

Thanks for the good thoughts. They help keep me going! I'll let you know if it looks like I'll be up your way anytime soon, so we can go do the hanging out thing :)

Heehee, you did see me!
And Cory. You saw a lot of Cory. *nods* A WHOLE LOT, if you know what I mean... or don't you remember that?

Heeheehee...

SubShock was beautiful as usual.
