I spent the evening looking for pictures, info, etc, about Bauernschmidt Manor.
The reason? I've been there, been in it even, knew the guy who used to live there. It was a run-down, palatial mess of a house, gorgeous and decrepit and dangerous, and filled with gothy-types.
The guy who owned it/lived in it for his family ended up dead a few years after I moved here, so I can't glean info from him. It puts an even spookier spin on a house with interesting memories for me.
Evidently it is now a Bed And Breakfast.
I can't even imagine. The house of the guy who introduced me to And Also The Trees, Coil and Death In June, who whispered arcane bits of lore to me because he'd decided that since I didn't talk, I understood it all... his house, where you had to watch for rotting floorboards and hope the cupola wouldn't crumble off while you were on the sagging porch... is a B&B?
