30 December 2001 20:24So, the post-birthday Dawning was excellent, possibly one of the best events we've had since we took over! People danced [though I didn't; I wore something that looked marvelous on stage but was all too heavy for dancing] and caroused, and evidently we did one of the best shows we've ever given. I had many many compliments on my voice, which made me grin and blush... it was gratifying, though, because I can never tell how well we're doing while things are happening! I closed the set with an a capella version of All About Eve's "Wildflowers", which at least seemed to make Rebecca Davidsson happy, heh. That was an interesting experience - I've not sang unaccompanied in front of so many people before last night. Well, the opening to an old song we used to do, "Glimmer", had me singing the chorus at the opening of the song by myself... but that doesn't really count.
Other highlights of the evening - Rat Bastard came out to play, and that was fabulous, as I never get to see Will. He's one of my favourite people, and I almost never get enough time to talk to him. Liam and I spent most of the time after The Dawning at IHop, trying out our infrared ports on our pocket pcs - we beamed notes and a mp3 back and forth and giggled like schoolkids. We're such goobers. I have to say, my camaraderie with him has become rather satisfying... it wasn't something I could have predicted, but it seems that he has found his way into a place of friendship that I don't give just anyone. How the hell did that happen? *grin* I'm amused and pleased.
Finally got home last night around 5am-ish, and passed out accordingly. Today has been much of a lazy blur, and now I'm just about off to Subculture Shock. Hope that goes well, too.
