Milk baths: Cleopatra's Beauty Bath

I am interested in this...what is all in it (as my skin is sensitive and stupid sometimes)

From my website:
// Cleopatra's Beauty Milk Bath: dry milk blended with hand ground organic lavender flowers, a touch of orange peel, linden flowers, and whole jasmine flowers. Cleopatra was known for extravagant milk baths and was a great beauty; I tried to channel that feel in this mix.
If you want to see what it looks like: http://threeravens.xiane.org/images/milkbath.jpg [is the one in the big jar]

I recommend trying the small bag if you're not sure, but this is really mild stuff, no oils - just herbs and dry milk.

Let me know what you think! :)

Questions:

What does Temple of Love incense smell like?
and what about Dragon's Blood body oil?
Could you describe the quality of the scent of the dream pillow?

by [identity profile] xiane.livejournal.com
I described the Temple of Love incense to someone as an "Egyptian cookie" - it is VERY spicy/sweet, with frankincense and myrrh, benzoin, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, and real raisins... then honey to bind it all. You have to burn it on incense charcoals, so a little bit goes a LONG way. It smells good enough to eat.
The Dragon's Blood is a bit hard to describe. Slightly perfumey, with an unidentifiable spicy undertone? This is a synthetic oil, so it is hard for me to whiff deeply, because my allergies go off. If you're unsure, I can bring you a little sampler when I come to C'ville for Halloween.
The dream pillows are *strongly* scented, very herbal and earthy because of the hops - distinctive. The hops smell is a bit odd if you're not used to it, but it quickly becomes comforting. These are best used by slipping them between your pillow and pillowcase.

Did that help at all? I can always bring all these things for you to see/smell when I come there.

It would be great if you could bring the Dragon's Blood and a dream pillow. I'd really appreciate that.

Are you coming down just for the Dawning or are you staying in C'Ville for a day or so? (I'm interested in getting together so we could hang out and chat rather than try to yell over the music.)

I'm actually *shocking* not spinning The Dawning, but rather Umlaut on Halloween itself, and I am trying to get into town on Sunday afternoon if possible. [I want to catch the In Tenebris/The Last Dance show at the Outback!] I won't be leaving until sometime in the afternoon on Nov 1st, so I should have lots of time to socialize and catch up with everyone I love. I'll bring lots of different things with me and let everyone smell 'em. Maybe I'll do a "Threeravens Home Party" thing! ;)

http://threeravens.xiane.org/images/milkbath.jpg It is the one in the jar, in the back.
I love love this bath. It is mild and lovely.
Did you want to Paypal for this? [xiane@xiane.org] Does two dollars for shipping sound fair? I'll add some other goodies to your package, of course ;)

in the jar? that's got to weigh a bit... I don't mind if you send it over in the bag, it'll be lighter, and it'll cost more than $2 Sweetie, your prices are great, don't rip yourself off by paying all the shipping too.

Hello, my language skills suck. :D
The small is in a bag; the picture shows the Cleo in a large size. There is no picture of me, but if there was I could subtitle it "dorkus maximus" ;)

It is very very light, so even with extra stuff in the package I would feel bad about charging much for shipping. I suck at figuring out what international prices are. It is literally only a few ounces in weight, though.

Lol :)

The small would be perfect. I'd love to give it a go, see how my skin likes it, and then buy bigger at a later time. My skin is pretty sensitive, but looking at your ingredients, that sounds fine :)

Maybe you mentioned this before in one of your posts, but I'd like to ask again: Are the oils and fragrances you use naturally produced? I'm interested in picking up some of your incense and body oils, not to mention a blessing candle. But I'm sensitive to artificial fragrances, so I've got to ask. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat as you.
Skip the oils, some are synthetic - they're all anointing quality, and they make my allergies go off, which is why I'm elminating them. They're not *bad* oils if you're not allergic, but I want higher quality than that. I'm going to be carrying some organic and/or wildcrafted pure essential oils soon, so I'll let you know when that happens. Are you looking for any in particular? I'll be placing an order soon.
However, the incense is *totally* herb/resin/organics based and made from Oregon Tilth Recognized Organic products. I can give you complete ingredients listings for them if you want. The candles are made from pure beeswax sheets with ground herbs sprinkled throughout the sheet before rolling. Same deal with the herbs, all Organic. I'm picky these days ;)
Did you want a photo of the candles? They're about 4 inches in height and thicker than my thumb, but I can take a photo easily. :)

I don't need complete ingredient lists, but thanks for asking. I'm definitely interested in the incense and the candles, and maybe some of that sage. I love the smell of sage. How does one go about paying? Do you have PayPal or shall I send a money order? e-mail janea at paws-and-effect dot com if you want to give further information.
