What do you locally call the summertime concotion of shaved or crushed ice and flavouring? Where I'm from, we call it a Snowball.

Snowcone.

Apparently there is a difference between a snowball and a snowcone though....

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowcone

Most of the time a snow cone (or sno-cone) is a crunchier ice in which the flavoring sinks to the bottom. A snow ball means that the ice is fluffier and the flavoring somewhat soaks in. Furthermore, in most cases snow cones are made in advance. Snow balls are made in front of the waiting customer.

Crushed ice is a sno-cone, then there's hawaiian ice which is fluffier and is shaved.

Snowcone. Or Sno-cone, depending on how lazy of spellers are selling it.

Sno-cone. I can't call anything "snowball" after watching Clerks.

I know of what you speak, but I can't quite recall it. I want to say "frozen ice" but that is vibrantly stupid. Probably just flavored ice, I guess. It's in a little paper cone, right?

I don't even want to tell you what we call a "snowball" in this city. Stay sweet, kid.
