Hey
scary_kisses...
16 November 2004 17:44No Schady for me tonight. I have killer headache o'doooooom AND I have to redye my hair before interview tomorrow.
:(
NEXT week. NEXT next next, I PROMISE. Come Hell or High Water.
And. You ever have one of those days where everything conspires against you to assure that *nothing* will get done?
Yeah, right here.
Couldn't get my extra keep for the Cactuar Car [of FOUR WHEELING SPOOKY DOOM!] today, becaus ethe smarties at Schaefer and Strominger didn't seem to realize that they can't cut Jeep keys at the dealership I bought said Jeep from. Soooo. I have to drive to Dundalk to have one made. If you've been paying attention, you'll know that I used to be super familiar with Baltimore, but a lot has changed in the 13+ years that I've been gone. Soooo... this will be An Adventure. I'm venturing into the land of Hons, probably on Thursday.
I'd do it tomorrow, but the same forces that conspired against me today have laid a full plate out for tomorrow. Most important is a job interview, the first one here in Bmore... and I'm sorta embarrassed yet secretly thrilled at the place I'm trying for. I say nothing else until I know what's going on, lest I jinx somethin'.
I just want a job where I can be myself.
I also have to return other applications. And tomorrow I'll finally have money of my own, so I have some stuff I'm needing to buy. One of the big things is a locking wheel cover for my spare tire, because I'll be damned if I'm gonna take the Green Machine to DC or Bmore and leave it exposed. They have locking ones for about $120 - metal ones - that's what I think I want. I also need plain black socks and some food-type crap that I've been missing. Mom shops at Mars, which I find to be overall wretched in selection... any Bmore locals have better suggestions for a girlie who likes low-carb stuff and whole foods?
Speaking of STUFF I wanna DO - I want to get into singing again. Even if it's just for fun. I want to make music. I'm going nuts. I can do it myself... but it's so much more fun to collaborate. I'll have cash in hand soon enough to buy some stuff I'll need [mics and stuff, all that I left behind] - anyone localish interested? If you haven't heard my beloved, sophomorish-but-having-potential previous band, I can hook you up with a demo. *grin*
Okay. Gotta help Mom with dinner, enough updating for now. Woo.

2004-11-16 23:52 (UTC)whole foods is awesome, wendy is better at giving directions than i am so i'll leave that one up to her. also, the asian markets in catonsville (particularly hahn ah reum) is amazing for really inexpensive fresh produce (TONS of it, even!) and other such stuff. they're the size of regular grocery stores, so you can get just about everything that you'd want, but *much* better quality and *much* less expensive. i'd love to take you down there sometime, if you'd like; i'm vegan, so i tend to go a little wild and it's fun to share...heeee :)
as for collaboration, i'd loooove to play with you...but i think i already told you that ;) and also, all i have to offer is my voice and my "tribal" drum rhythms...i have a couple of other friends (with whom i used to be in a celtic folk band) in the area who have been thinking about starting an a capella group/small choir, if maybe you're interested in that?
so much to do, so little time! good luck with the job, i can't wait to hear that you got it ;)

2004-11-17 06:22 (UTC)I just want a job where I can be myself.
*waves* Yeah, hey, right here.
I just want someone to give me a job and let me show them how much of a kickass employee I can be! Yaaarrrg! <-- pirate noise
Good luck, babes. *hug*
Be-labored.
2004-11-17 19:40 (UTC)That is the best job perk of all! Sadly, it is seldom achieved. I have always maintained that work would be wonderful were it not for all those pesky customers!!
Yes ~ please sing again; that would be more wonderful still.

2004-11-18 08:50 (UTC)If the two of you are, you could make an online store on your site? :)
I know it won't pay all the bills and such, but you know we'll buy whatever. :)
Another thing you could look into, is maybe working for your local newspaper? They have a lot of "behind the scenes" jobs that you could do...where you CAN be yourself. My only problem was that I needed social interaction....if I wanted to be myself and work alone..I'd stay at home. HAH!
Anyway...Did you guys get the card?
