Last night at The Dawning was pretty fun, though so lightly populated as to make me confused... was something going on that I didn't know about? Ah well, what matters is that a bunch of people I never get to see came out, Including Lindsay-Jaide and Jim, and M and Cory, and Jos and Tom, plus several others who I hadn't seen in ages. Bruce and I had fun with the DJing, even though I did the thing I usually HATE doing - I repeated an artist during the night, and rather close together. I totally missed the song he'd played, by being momentarily out of the room. Poop. *embarassing* A least it was a request; it wasn't a song I'd generally play voluntarily.
The smoke was *really* bad - I went upstairs and was talking to the owner outside for a bit, and when I came down, I had a full-fledged allergic reaction to the smoke, with lots of eye-watering and blindness and snifflies and ick. That sucked.
Talked to lots of people, didn't dance to a thing, except in the DJ booth... drank a lot of water, and pranced aound in my stupid bloomers and stripey tights. I looked like a goob, but I wanted to be comfortable. I really should dress up next week, as I dunno when I'll have the opportunity to do so again :/
Had to work today, which woukld have been a bummer at any other job. At Coyote, I sat around with Stu and Vim and Shane and talked and bullshitted around. Shane bought the hearse, paid me in cash. I am the happiest girl ever. I was able to pay the rst of the rent for this month, finally. Yay! I hate owing my friends money. Hate it.
Bought goceries with Stu, came home and made baked apples to share with Jason and Ali and Stu and talked to them and Patrick and Jos for a goodly long time, then was able to squeeze in a little time talking to Rob before running off to SubShock and getting Patrick and Stu acclimated to the "finer points" of running the show. They did almost the entire hour of talking in the last half! They were great. We had a blast, and while I'm not looking forward to leaving, I think that the trio of those two plus Will Rat Bastard is going to be awesome, and a delightful breath of fresh air.
Now I'm just sitting here chatting with Rob and Jos, thinking about how shitty it's gonna be to type up the playlists on this malfunctioning keyboard, and dreaming of a full night's sleep. Ooooooh. That's gonna rock. I work tomorrow in the afternoon. I get to sleep in. I'm so smart for planning it that way. Heh.
Mon: work 3 - 7
Tues: day off; packing. Maybe coffee.
Weds: working 3 - 7; making a backup DAT while Chad does The Core.
Thurs: working 3 - 7; meetup afterwards to flyer for The Dawning and play DDR en masse. Wear sensible shoes ;)
Fri: woking 3 - 7; something something something else.
Sat: woking 11 - 6; the Halloween Dawning and my last time DJing there for a good long time. Feel free to rejoice.
Sun: rest; my last SubShock.

2004-10-30 22:55 (UTC)AWESOME AND YAY!
I wondered, "Dude, why isn't she doing the Halloween show? WTF?"
We will all probably be home anyway, carving pumpkins... so many pumpkins today and more tomorrow... and listening to goth spooky tunes.
