Tonight, DJ Rift and myself will be spinning, from 10p - 3a per usual. All ages/ $6 if under/$4 if over 21, per usual. Outback Lodge, 917 Preston Ave, you all know the drill.
Item #1; No, we are NOT moving to Fridays. I know that I said we would be, probably. After negotiating with the owner [which sounds like a bigger deal than it was, heh, he likes us], we decided it would be better to stick to Saturdays and occasionally get bumped for Private Parties... rather than flip-flop between various Fridays and Saturdays, which was our only other option. So keep on the lookout for the occasional post of "no Dawning" - shouldn't happen for at least the next three weeks, though.
Item #2 - IF YOU ARE UNDER AGE, AND YOU ARE DRINKING AT OUTBACK LODGE OR SHOWING UP THERE DRUNK, YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE. I don't give a shit who you are. I don't care who you know there. I don't care if the bartenders or the owner himself told you that you could. YOU ARE STILL AN ASSHOLE.
Get your selfish fucking head out of your ass and realize that if the cops come, they don't care about any of those things - they will see underagers drunk at a venue, and they WILL SHUT US DOWN. You will be the cause of the demise of our venue. Don't think you will be excused, because YOU WON'T.
I'm fucking tired of seeing a few people fucking it up for everyone. And I'm REALLY tired of watching everyone else allow it to happen. If you see someone you know drinking or doing something they shouldn't be at the club - SPEAK UP! Tell them - LOUDLY - that what they're doing endangers the venue and the scene. If you don't step up and take care of the scene, it will disappear. There's only so long I'm going to work to maintain it for everyone if they're not going to help keep it together. Most everyone who comes to The Dawning is awesome... let's clean up the club and our reputation and keep things on Saturday nights as awesome as they should be.
