More on the Dawning cancellation...

Just so you guys know...
this will occasionally happen, where we get pre-empted by a UVa function at Outback Lodge. The reason is that unfortunately, the Dawning doesn't bring nearly as much revenue as those private parties do, so the owner *has* to choose them. He's nice enough to keep us on the roster, but every once in a while this is going to happen. I'll try and keep everyone as up-to-date as possible about these things as SOON as I find out about them; today's was told to me around 4 this afternoon!

I'm told that when UVa has home games, this never happens, so next week should be back to normal. You might want to note that traffic is awful during home games, so planning ahead to leave earlier than usual is a good idea!

What's the likelihood of a cancellation happening when you have a band booked?

For the band? None. The cool thing about Outback Lodge is now the dance part's seperate from the band part, so even if I get pre-empted, the live show goes on. In that case, I'd just bring my own DJ equip out and set up in the sound booth, a la old Dawning stylee.

I'm working on a date for you guys. When in October looks good? [you should say "oct 30th"!]
