... the weird get to cleaning.
I got stuff accomplished today.
I tarped the hearse - as it has no plates or inspection, it needs to stay covered - and I was pleased to discover that the tarp I bought does indeed cover it pretty well. Now I have a giant grey glob in the driveway.
briskpepper and I had to make an emergency "we need a new kitchen faucet" run to Lowe's - yes, the faucet did it's "let's pop the seal and spew water" thing again, and this time we determined that there was no repair for it. Stu tried to put itin himself, but it is just beyond our skill/patience/tool requirement. So it should get fixed tomorrow, hopefully.
Came home, incensed about the ridiculously high fees for trash stickers these days.... for those of you non-cvillians, trash stickers are required for all trash pickup here in the lovely town of Cville. You can purchase a yearly sticker - which is expensive - or per-bag/can ones. The price for those JUST went up to 2.20 EACH. I bought 10, spent 21.00, and feel like I should just start taping cash to my trash cans now. Goddamn. I forsee more trips to the recycling center in our future. This is goddamn stupid, and we don't even make that much trash, generally.
Last night was weirdly awesome. There was a manic vibe to the night - some of that might have been from my sleep-dep, of course - but a shaky start morphed into a fine evening. Thanks to EVERYONE who came out and made it fun! As I always say to Jeremy, who thanks me every week for keeping The Dawning running - we wouldn't have it without everyone who comes out to support it. I have DJs from everywhere clamouring to spin here, because out reputation is spreading far and wide about this being the best crowd of people around. We rock.
Oh, and just for the record: my lip's barely swollen now and not so noticable. My tooth can probably get by with just some bonding, which I'll worry about at a future date, once I have some cash. Thanks to everyone who expressed concern. You make a klutzy girl feel loved.
Now it's dinnertime, then room-straightening, then SubShock!

2004-07-13 19:49 (UTC)I haven't followed your LJ, because I wasn't sure if that would be completely inappropriate :D - but just popped over to take a quick look, and I really appreciated your post about body image... I wish more guys were so supportive as you seem to be.
Thanks for the nice words of thanks!
