Elbow hives?

To give some explanation: Yesterday, I broke out in hives. I thought at first I had a bugbite. No, it was all over... my elbows.

It just suddenly came back. Hugely worse.
I look like I've been rolling in poison ivy or something. Except that I haven't, and I'm not allergic to it anyway.

What the hell?

So. I'm going to go take a shower and hope that it calms down. O_o

Rolling in poison ivy or doing some weird yoga stand on your elbows in poison ivy?

Heh, sorry, I shouldn't laugh. Ouch. =(

I know it's for poison ivy, but you should go get some Ivarest stuff...it's horrible, because us gothy gals are so pale, and this crap makes you look like you have a tan...but still..it makes all those bumpies chill the fuck out. :)

(i use it for mosquito bities too)

also, you might want to try this, the next time you break out as well...it's a recipe by my great grandma who undoubtedly was wiccan before wiccan was the trend..:).

1pt mullein
1pt chamomile
1pt goldenseal
1pt echinecea
1 garlic clove, chopped to bits
Two pinches cayenne pepper (if you like spicy drinks, only for taste)
Juice from two ripe lemons
Sweetner (this stuff is gank without it..lol)
1 drop of those breath mint droppy things (I don't have peppermint oil, but this would suffice too!)

Place herbs and water into a tea steeper or pot and boil. :)

Hmmm...hopefully you aren't allergic to yourself.

What? Never heard of this? Couple years ago I broke out in serious hives, thought it was my bedding. Cleaned, changed everything about. Then I thought, it must of been something I ate....nope. Went to the allergist and it was my lovely thyroid causing the damn hives!

Crazy life.

That sounds like a generalized allergic rash. You've mentioned that you have seasonal allergies before, so this is not really that surprising. You're getting it in areas where you put pressure, so if it spreads to, say, armpits or your waist, don't panic. :)

It should go away on its own. Antihistamines will help with the itching, if that happens. If it gets so bad that you can't sleep, consider visiting your PCP and getting some more powerful antihistamines and/or some steroid cream to calm the rash down.

Tha's no good at all.

Maybe because your skin there is dryer it is more prone to breaking out / reacting to allergins.

I dunno, but *hugs* anyway.

Yeah, I'm with you on the weird skin stuff. I think I'm reacting a little bit to the shower with DC water I took on Monday. My glands take umbrage at spontaneity.
