You can stand there with your heart in your outstretched hand, and offer it to those who seem like they might appreciate a gift of this sort. Some will come and sniff at it, then walk away, looking for an easier gift - one with less responsibility, perhaps. Some will pick it up, weigh it, then put it back. Some will act like this was the best gift they've ever had, exclaiming over it, then shoving it into the back of a cabinet to be forgotten. A few might even take it and throw it on the ground, possibly stomping on it in the process. Very, very rare souls will come by that will truly treasure it. And sometimes they'll seem perfect, but let's face it - they just weren't up to the challenge. One or two might think to wrap it in beautiful tissue paper and store it in a little box next to their own heart... if you're lucky. I've wrapped mine up in a burgundy ribbon, and hung it from a branch in the heart of the forest. If you want a bit of it, that's where it lives. My chest feels lighter now, with it unburdened.
