xiane: ([oldschool])
Soooooo... yeah. What happens when I go away for a weekend AND move into a new place AND get denied regular internet access for even longer? Yup, this. We're currently having to share a cable between the digital cable for the TV and the computer, because we're at the end of the line here on our street and they need to put a booster in. They [Adelphia] promised us that they would have it in a few days - that was on Tuesday. Bah.
Otherwise, though: the house is great, we love being here, having [livejournal.com profile] mrjustice as a roomie again is excellent. I feel a bit more removed from everything down here at the end of the street, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I feel like I can actually de-stress some here. The house is still a post-moving mess, but as [livejournal.com profile] nothingoth is slowly able to move his things down to his apartment below, we free up space to store things. I have a lot of really random crap! More 'zines than God, I say. I also am realizing what I don't have, because for 5 years I didn't need it... like muffin pans. Bookshelves. Microwave-safe plates. That's what happens when you lose all your kitchen stuff, then move into a house that has all of what you're missing already. Now that we've left the House Of Certain Doom, I'm starting to realize what an extensive list of crap I need. Blah.

Oh yeah. DROP DEAD RULED! I had such a blast, both in NY [thank you, [livejournal.com profile] nydecay!] and Philly [thank you, [livejournal.com profile] sneaky_bat!]...hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] xymoxed for days was damn cool, and I owe her big time for everything. Kristy, you are such a fucking awesome friend! We went everywhere, saw eveything, ate delicious food, and spent time watching kickass bands and hanging out with incredible people. Oh, and The Brides! Yay! I got to introduce them onstage at CBGB's, along with [livejournal.com profile] caveynik, which was definitely a highlight. I'm such a little fangirl. Good thing that they're actually friends, or they might think I was a stalker. O_o
Band highlights: Antiworld prevailed despite bad sound on the vox at CB's... their singer has a really fucking cool voice and great stage presence. Memphis Morticians were smooth sounding, really together and rocking. I wanted to hear more from The Funeral Crashers, but the vox were really screwed for them, so I stood up front and tried my best to hear. Cute singer, that gets points from me. Too bad they're not together any more. The Brides were fast and furious and rocked my socks both nights. I pretty much dragged everyone up to the front in Philly to dance for their last song. That show was great, but the setup made people much less inclined to rock out [by the end, they had mostly succumbed, and I had succumbed to the heat and rocked out from a chair. The Brides gave me heat prostration! That sounds dirty.] Cinema Strange... wow. Both nights, amazing and totally different. For those of you who were not so impressed with the CB's show, I think the Philly one would have changed your mind. They were much more upbeat and rocking, crazier and animated... fully impressive both nights, but more... personable, I suppose, on Sunday. Fucking amazing. I'd travel to see them again, certainly.

Okay. I need to go back to arranging the house - for those who care, my cell phone is back in commission, fully charged thanks to Chad and the kind loan of a charger. I'll be here pretty much all night, then tomorrow it is In Tenebris, Void Stares Back and [livejournal.com profile] dj_vlad and myself spinning at The Dawning. Wooo! Come out and PLAY.

La la la, clean the house. La la la, clean the house...
