So, in fun news: [livejournal.com profile] mickmercer mentioned SubShock [with URL!] on his LJ. Hopefully this means more people will listen!

I don't know how it happens, but I haven't had a project yet that hasn't been found and mentioned by this hard-working-for-the-scene man. That rules. I appreciate what he does... he's really dedicated to keeping people informed and supporting the scene in the best of ways.
Rock!

Gimme that Old School Goth Rock! The Drowning Season [from Baltimore, my hometown!] have it and are willing to share with you - BUT you HAVE to come to The Dawning to get it! They've been compared to The Mission, The Merry Thoughts, and Rosetta Stone, but I think they have something that's all their own, as well... enough to book them more than once, and play their tunes quite often on Subculture Shock. If that doesn't tell you something, you're not paying attention ;)
Making her debut tonight is also the lovely DJ Starnight, who you may know as a regular supporter of The Dawning. She and I will do our best to keep you dancing with our blend of Goth Rock, Industrial, Synthpop and Darkwave. Hey, did I mention that admission's only Five Bucks... and it's ALL AGES?

The Dawning is held weekly at Tokyo Rose, 2171 Ivy Rd, Charlottesville VA. w00t!

Spent the first part of the day trying to conquer Evil Sinus Headache of Doom [tm] part deux. Lately I've been feeling very ill, falling-apart-y, and overall not-quite-right. So if I suddenly cancel hanging out or if I seem irritable, I apologise in advance. I haven't been sleeping well because of it... and to add to the matter, my extremities [no, not the dirty bits, just hands and feet] have been overly tingly and prone to falling asleep. I can't relax because all these scenarios where I die in my sleep start spinning around in my head. I have severe issues, I know. I hate this heightened awareness of my mortality that I've had for the past six months or so. O_o

After I battled the ESHoD [tm], I left the house, went to the Credit Union and deposited my rent, then trundled off to Barnes and Noble where I met up with [livejournal.com profile] explodingcat and [livejournal.com profile] krasota - I bought two books, one on Vegetarian cooking and the other on Magickal Gardening. w00t. We then wandered around Michael's, where I got the mini-trellis I wanted for my currant tomatoes [growing in a pot in the kitchen], and a mini purple glass globe garden ornament. It is totally silly and I adore it. I figure if I'm going to have to live off of some of what I'm growing, the least I can do is make it pretty. That's why the purple pole bean seeds HAD to be purchased when we were at Whole Foods. I also got New Zealand spinach seeds and some Johnny Jump-Ups. Mmmm, edible flowers.

Bought a veritable schload of fabric for the upcoming Terminal Ready toga party/CD release show. I'm making a Deathrock Chiton. Don't ask, just show up and wear one of your own.

Came home, watched the SciFi friday lineup, and ate veggie burritos of Stu's making. That boy can cook some delicious burritos. Damn.

Now I'm sitting here with green goo on my face [The Body Shop's Tea Tree masque] and getting ready to pass out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I wake up headache free this time. :)
