Turn Pale.
Turn Pale.
TURN PALE!!!
You've been asking and pleading and begging, and now they're back - those guys with the Crazy Deathrock Madness from Bloomington, Turn Pale! The last time they played here, the show sold out, the crowd rocked out, and everyone left amazed. If you missed the last show, I'll give you a hint and tell you they've been compared to The Birthday Party.
To sweeten the deal, I'll be spinning before and after the band. Beat that!
You know the drill - doors at 10p, $5 admission, all ages. Show up early and start dancing before 11p, make a DJ happy!

Perhaps tonight if you get this before 10pm, maybe you could play me some Cocteau Twins? Preferably "Lorelei", I'll have it with me out in the car as I make the riders listen to me and suffer while I sing and dance (car dancing only), last week it was Melanie, Star, and Jay (who sang and danced along), this week it's Melanie, Shawn (who's up for Turn Pale) and Jay I think is not attending as he's not feeling well... *hugs* If you could oblige me, I'd love you more than I do now, if not, I still love you, so no harm done :P :)
See you in a few hours...
*slurps*
Amazing
2003-11-08 23:44 (UTC)I luff you *big hugs* I cannot express fully the extent of my gratitude for your amazing spinning abilities. Oh, and could you send me your play list so I can download ALL of the songs or perhaps I could give you a CDR disc and pay you to burn them... *drools*
Although I'll have to be careful not to play it often because if I do, i'll surely perish. It will make me dance UNTIL I DIE... aaah!
(My email's phouka_trickster@yahoo.com, oh and AIM PhoukaTricktser if you have that ;) *hugs*)
oh good, you just saved me from oblivion!
2003-11-09 01:07 (UTC)David! Your post was the first thing I saw when I got home. Thank god. You completely, unsolicitedly, wonderfully restored a wee bit of my faith in what I was doing tonight. I have to admit: I was having a really bad time. Nothing felt like it was going right, people kept complaining, and I burst into tears at one point.
Then I read your post, and the view changed a little. It is really easy to focus on the negativity when that's what is in your face, and that's what I was doing tonight. I can't say that everything's better. I still have a lot of things with The Dawning that need to be fixed, and I will probably continue to have panic attacks, as that's what I do. But knowing that you could make comments like you did [better than sex? I feel both complimented and a little cowed. How will I ever top that? Hee!] - well, that's the best thanks I could get.
I'll get you a setlist, and if I get time this week I can burn you the songs, no prob. I'd be glad to help you perish in a fit of mad dancing! ;)
