Okay, You Who Rock.
It is that time of the year again, when I come to you and ask [beg] for your help in supporting my weekly Goth Rock radio show on WNRN 91.9 Charlottesville, Subculture Shock.
For a bit of insight, in case you don't know: WNRN is a public-supported Community Radio station. What that means is that the only financial support we get is from Underwriting, and from Listener support in the form of donations. We have fundraisers twice a year to drum up support, and to thank our listeners for helping us out, we give premiums to them. WNRN has several major blocks of programming, including Acoustic Sunrise, Modern Rock, the Boom Box, and Special Shows that feature Punk, Industrial, Electronica, Metal, etc. Every host of a specialty show comes up with interesting premiums for their pledgers, and what SubShock has been offering is a compilation CD of donated songs from all the awesome bands I've had the pleasure to meet or help promote.
This year, I've already had response from many bands, both local and national... but I need more! If you have a band and would like to be on this comp, PLEASE email me or respond here. I will give you as many copies of the CD as you like - it isn't a high-tech venture, but it will have some very cool tracks on it - and LOTS of airtime on a show that not only has a big listener base in Central VA, but also across the internet.
So far confirmed:
Bella Morte
Terminal Ready
Silent Muse
Malice In Leatherland
Antiworld
The Brides
In Tenebris
Void Stares Back
And you KNOW that's not all. Soooo... if you have a band, are incined to help, and can get a track to me by September 22nd, PLEASE let me know and help keep SubShock going!
