Okay, I'm going to TRY this updating thing; I've been distracted in my attempts before now.

Thursday: met up with [livejournal.com profile] xymoxed at my house, said bye to [livejournal.com profile] briskpepper, and took off for an afternoon of adventure in DC. We made it to Georgetown with 10 minutes to spare before our meet-up with [livejournal.com profile] phiiir @ Smash. We poked around looking at impossibly small dresses and fashion tees that only went up to size L [I can wear a L but only if I modify the crap out of it, and why do I want to do that to a rand new shirt? It should fit when I buy it!]... I did find a Joy Division tee to replace the one I sold a while back. Yay! Jeniphir finally made it through the evil traffic, we chatted for a bit in Smash, then made our way over to the fastest place she could think of for food - the food court at Georgetown Park - because she had to go to work soon.
Chatted some more over a light dinner, which was great, as I've never really had a chance to hang out with Jeniphir in any situation that wasn't a club or 4th Street Diner with a million people. That rocked.
She left [late, oops] to run to work, and Kristy and I wandered around G-Town some more, looking at horribly overpriced and trendy items and drooling over the few things taht we did see and like that we just couldn't afford or wouldn't pay for. Kristy went to MAC as planned and I stood around feeling like I was sucked into the world of Elle or Vogue... but not as a supermodel, oh no. I felt like the cleaning lady who got trapped on the set of the model's shoot. I'm smart enough to know this: when they don't bother to put the prices on anything, that means if you need to ask, you're too poor to have it. I love their colours, and I was really interested in talking to someone about foundation... but not those ladies. They looked at me like I was a piece of gum on the bottom of their shoe. Yuk. Kristy did get some awesome lip stuffs, though. She has more fortitude of will than I do! ;)
Managed to make it over to Nation without getting too lost - I think after all this time, I've got the naviation in DC thing mostly down. We walked in and ran into Gopal first thing; he had hugs aplenty for us, despite feeling under the weather. The we found a Micah at the merch table, and got more hugs. We spent a lot of time that night hanging out at the merch table, actually. It is really fun to interact with the guys in other places; it recaptures a lot of the feelings I used to have when I first met them/saw them, if that makes any sense. Just watching the crowd react to them is fun, especially when you know a lot of their in-jokes. Good, silly fun. Of course The Brides kicked much ass, as always - their show was phenomenal, and they are a fucking breath of fresh air in the scene as far as I'm concerned - ready to have fun, pleasant as can be, damn talented, and just a blast to talk to. I was up in the front dancing my ass off for both bands, and Kristy and I even managed to dance to some of the DJ'ed stuff, rock-n-roll. By the time we left there [around 2a], I was sweaty and tired - yet hyped - mess. That was one of the most fulfilling club nights out I've had in AGES. Big thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] dj_vlad and the Alchemy peeps for making the night actually happen like that, and the bands for kicking ass... oh, and [livejournal.com profile] pizza_tram, [livejournal.com profile] oletheros, [livejournal.com profile] enfant_eternel, [livejournal.com profile] djsolaries, and anyone else I'm forgetting, for making the night fun.. and of course [livejournal.com profile] xymoxed for taking care of me ALL night. That girl's the best, and I owe her big. :)

I have more, about yesterday, but I have run out of time. Let us just say: PIRATES. I'll finish later.

MAC foundation rules. The type I use is low-coverage (for evening out skin tone) and it stays put without feeling heavy or clogging my pores. If you want to check out their products without having to deal with snooty bitches and spending a fortune, there is a discount makeup store in Potomac Mills that carries the whole line at like half off. The girls there are really sweet...I ended up in the store for an extra half hour talking to them about hair dye.

I actually am intrigued since you recommended them. I'll have to try there; I prefer cheaper anyway ;)

It was good to see you tonight! It feels like it's been forever, and you were only gone a week!

Sweet mother of pearl, I hate going into those fancy expensive stores where the ladies look at me like I smell of week old rotting fish ... I make stuff like the crap in their stores, and for less monies! so ha to them and their $60 dresses that I can make for under $20 =^_^= Wuah hahahaa ...
