How possible could it be that I have this? This is the first thing I've read that perfectly matches my symptoms. It's a longshot, but it describes perfectly how it happens to me.

I welcome comments/insight, from Sharon especially!
hrmm I have GERD which sounds very similar to me, But I am not a health professional ;) I have the uncontrollable vomitting and water doesn't really help either.
well I have the vomit, pain and heartburn GERD is also called esphogitis might of spelled it wrong) I have it really badly and can't eat a lot of foods, ask xymoxed, I am fun in restuarants
Hi honey, I was talking to one of the older MDs at the practice and of course, not mentioning any names, and he said to advise you to start taking over the counter medicines like Zantac or Pepsid on a regular basis to see if that can stop the cycle from happening as often. Also, if those medicines are too expensive, to take Mylanta or Maalox 4 times a day, and alot of it (2tsps). He also said you should see a gastroenterologist. Now I know one who is married to one of our pediatric docs, and with your permission I can discreetly inquire about payment plans, etc. Any tests done at MJH can be written off through their healthsource plan that they must offer being a non profit hospital; and I can help you with that too. From what I can tell the meds and or antacid thing would work for this Cyclic thing too; but that sounds like it needs to be diagnosed by a professional. CALL ME. love ya whew, this is a long one.
yes, being checked out by a professional is a must. It sounds like this CVS is basically a term they use when they've eliminated *everything* else and can't explain *why* this is happening to you...
I'm not a medical professional either, glad to see your friend that is one answered that post for you however I do think since I read that article you should DEFINITELY make sure after these bouts that you completely hydrate yourself, go buy some Pedialyte or the offbrand and keep plenty on hand, atleast 2 bottles is good for adults after vomitting. Jason had some vomitting episodes/issues we thought was GERD related (he even got meds for GERD but it turns out to be Fibro. the meds made him feel worse!) and he dehydrated himself to the point of having to go to the hospital finally...all this started in the end of January and he did not go to the hospital until March. :/ Needless to say he had not hydrated himself as well as we thought he had, a month and a half later, he was paying the price... So please, when you do have these bouts (though I'd hope you wouldn't) make sure you do get plenty fluids, esp, the Pedialyte kind, cause Gatorade and water simply aren't going to help. Yeah, no coffee atleast from what I've read you should go caffiene free :/ and chocolate makes it worse (that caffiene). Jasons vomitting episodes were subdued when he went caffiene-free and stopped eating certain foods, we followed some of the GERD philosophy about not eating certain foods and he's slowly reintroduced some of them back into his diet, IE, the Taco Bell food group. ;) As far as stress goes, Jason had to be put on some meds for that, he was far too anxious and that wasn't helping his condition at all...and reading this about Cyclic Vomitting Syn., I see the same thing, stress is a factor...I hope you don't have CVS but I'm sure you're like Jay and hope you do, so you know that you do have something and it has a name :/ *hugs* Love you.
