[livejournal.com profile] krasota and I were inspecting her soon-to-be-ex yard today. We had some questions about things growing there.
Jos, I think this site might hold many answers: http://2bnthewild.com/
Go to speedwell, common and muck about. It seems that you have a variety of Veronicas. I couldn't find ground ivy for you to peer at, although I have an okay shot in one of my field guides. I need a better book. I used to have more... Peterson's is pretty good, but I am missing some serious identifiers, which are key for making the right call sometimes. O_o
Makes me want to go hiking, it does. I miss finding all the random wild medicinals. The best find was the Pearly Everlasting, which smells marvelously like honey. *_*

the minty smelling stuff with roundish toothed leaves and runners has tiny purple-blue flowers at the leaf axils later in the summer. four at a time, at each axil level.
