23 December 2002 23:19Xmas Eve updating, woo.
Started off the day with some snow that fell in lovely huge flakes until it turned into freezing rain and ice. I don't mind, it was pretty while it lasted. Coyote was damn slow today, so Vimala and I sat around and chatted for a bit until she decided I should say "fuck work" and leave to go get my groceries. I love that my boss is my friend and a real person, not some corporate poo. I managed to get my sorry butt over to the Teeter, and it wasn't as packed as I'd feared. I've decided that the Gall Bladder Attack was a sign that I should go back to the vegetarian diet I used to have [
kava will be pleased, I know!] - I've mostly been eating veggie or even vegan meals anyway, and I'll still occasionally eat fish. I think that the combo of meat and cheese was what gave me the attacks, but to be safe, I'm experimenting with soy cheeses for a bit. Mostly, they still taste like plastic to me - I tried some "cheddar" shreds in my burrito tonight - but I can cope with it for now. I bought lots of different "meat" strips, which I like to make stews or stir-frys with... I also bought the usual meatless crumbles, which we use in burritos, and took a chance on "turkey" lunchmeat slices. They'll probably taste like butt, but hey, it's fun to try them. For tomorrow, I bought salmon steaks - still eating fish, yes - and lots of veggies, and wild rice to add dried fruit mix to. Yum! I already have two acorn squash to bake... I sense impending feasting.
So I got home from Teeter, put all the groceries away, and ate some veggie burritos that Stu whipped up. I then sat down to the laptop and started updating my GothAuctions and GothicAuctions accounts, so that I can get to making the money as of the new year. I'm getting a buiness license and I'm going to start making incense, bath salts, and the like again, as well as geting cracking on making stuff to sell and reselling cool items I find in wholesalers catalogs. My goal is to get financially self-suffcient by the end of 2003, so that I can not worry about income so much. Right now the only thing keeping my head aove water is Stu's substantial paychecks from EA, but that always has the possibility of changing. The gaming industry is always unstable, although The Sims Online, which is the game they just finished testing and was just released, seems to be doing okay so far. Anyway, not only do I want to cover my ass, but this is something I wanted to start doing again since I first moved here. I *can* do it, and I shall. Woo.
Tomorrow will start off slow and sleepy, and hopefully will stay that way until I have to go to NRN. I managed to volunteer to take the overnight, so if you're awake on Christmas night from 2-5:30 am, tune in or give me a call - 979 0919 or 877 967 6762. I hope to squeeze some Buffy-watching in during the day - we have 6 episodes we haven't watched yet saved on the TiVo - and other than that, all should be pleasantly dull. I'm sure I'll post more later. You guys have a *great* Christmas, okay? *love*
