Cryptkicker takes donations for Hurricane Relief!

TONIGHT at Cryptkicker we'll be donating our earnings and taking donations for Second Harvest of Greater New Orleans. They run a food bank in New Orleans [1201 Sams Ave, New Orleans, 70123] and may be in a position to give much more immediate help than some other organizations.*

Please bring anything you can afford to offer to put in our collection jar. I'll be sending off payment myself, and I'll post any correspondence we might receive in connection with our donation. The Cryptkicker staff will be donating all their earnings for this night to the fund.

Next month we'll be collection for Habitat for Humanity, to assist the rebuilding effort.


*Why not Red Cross? Because so many people are focusing their donations on them, and we wanted to give to different organizations that also need help. I'm also personally giving to Red Cross, but these fund drives are going to concentrate on different humanitarian efforts.

i would donate to The Red Cross, but i was a tad put off when they denied a doation of fresh water and told people to only send them money. how the fuck can the people of New Orleans not need water?! it just seemed odd to me....

and i do wanna donate money, but i don't have much to donate right now.... :-/

Yeah, I dunno about Red Cross. Second Harvest seems good.
