A lot of you have heard this before, so bear with me if so, and I'll get to the good parts in a moment. *grin*
WNRN is a community supported radio station. What that means is that most of our funding comes from two places: underwriting from local businesses, and donations from listeners. Twice a year, we hold fundraisers, where we get on the air and ask our listeners to step up to the plate and help keep up on the air. We're the only station in Central VA that hosts the variety of music we're known for; we have many special shows that occur at the same time each week, and cover everything from Electronic music to Punk, Metal to Goth/Industrial. I host Subculture Shock, which airs every Sunday night from 10p -12m, and features old school and brand new Goth, Darkwave, and Deathrock. Not only can you tune in over the airwaves via 91.9/88.1 FM, you can also listen in online via http://wnrn.rlc.net. I have listeners from all over the world!
All this boils down to: I need your pledges of support tonight. If you call in and donate $25 or more, I have some *awesome* premiums to give you as thanks! Not only do you get a rockin' cool WNRN teeshirt to wear proudly [I have many of them, they're neat!], you also get to pick from a variety of CDs and gift certificates - I'll list those later, for your pre-perusal! And every pledger gets a copy of the Spring 2004 SubShock compilation, which features a variety of new tracks from local artists, as well as some tracks from current releases from the better-known bands. You can even get an exclusive preview of a new In Tenebris track here, which won't be available again until their new CD comes out!
