Road trips. I want road trips. I want to go off on wacky adventures with the few people I consider to be my friends, and maybe eat too much candy and drink too much coffee, buy goofy road souvenirs, and take pictures of us being wacky. Soon things will be changing again, and I want to preserve as much as I can of these moments.
The radio show went well... Randy and [livejournal.com profile] payback went with me to NRN and we had a great time [at least I did!] - played a lot of gothic-schmothic music and then went to the Villa and ate pancakes and drank too much bad Villa coffee. Now I'll regret the coffee soon, I'm sure - but I enjoyed it then, at least.
Have to put the playlist up, take a bath, go to bed. Goodnight, people.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show. I'll be sure to play some Snog and dedicate it to you next week. ;)

Dood, you know I got nuthin' but love 4 ya... it's just whatever that goth thing was sooo gothic it hurts... and I have a deep-seeded hatred for Snog. I'm sure it was just bad timing on my part and the rest of the show was diabolcious and double-plus-on-good and such.

I had to go look at my playlist to see what it was that was sooo gothic [I couldn't remember what I'd played before that]...oh, it was Autumn. Yeah, that's a damn gothy song. Mope-worthy.
Did I mention that the highlight of last week's show [besides the weekly calls for BoomBox shout-outs - those people never seem to have their radio on] was the guy who called and complained because they show's first hour was too electronic? He pleaded with me to play "something with guitars, like The Sisters or The Counselors". I thought that combination was priceless.
I like it when you give your honest comments on what you like/don't like about what I spin. Keeps my thinking fresh, so to speak. Honest feedback [as opposed to the often self-serving ego-related feedback that DJs often get] such as yours is really appreciated. Call me crazy, but it is true.

Word. The Snog thing was just a matter of personal preference, really. Most people were probably pleased with Snog... but I think most people are wrong for liking Snog.

It's difficult to please (people) in VA... and moreso in Cville... there's a large dynamic of music knowledge/appreciation and for lack of a more diverse subculture (smacks self for having to use the s-word) everyone gets lumped together. So the noise-based fans are lumped with the ebm/aggro fans are lumped with the electro/future-pop fans are lumped with the batcave/new-wave/dark-wave/whatever-fucking-wave fans are lumped with the death-rock/oi/whatever-sloppy-guitar-based-genre fans et cetera, totalling about... what... 75 people or something?

Point being you're fighting a battle that can only be won to a certain extent since you can't possibly please everyone all the time. Where others, such as me, would just reply with "Your mother..." and keep catering to a selection of the total fanbase you do a good job of accomadting the variety of interests.

You're an asset to the community. Mhm.
